Is the final launch of the 4K technology?

Ultra High Definition with 4,000 pixels, four times the resolution offered by HD. These are the main features of the 4K technology. A technology that has already been a couple of years in the market for consumer goods industry, but yet still presents a world unknown for to many consumers.

This technology refers to a format that offers new, spectacular, hyper-realism and unprecedented image resolution. There are two resolutions: Full 4K of 4096 x 2160 pixels and UHDV of 3840 x 2160 pixels.

This display technology is the last generation that we see in theaters. Its official launch took place in 2014 and 2015 was expected to be the final year of implementation, but this technology is not yet part of households worldwide.

The problem is clear and is based on two essential aspects, the high price and the poor content offering by devices 4K. Nowadays, sports broadcasts are the main assets of 4K. The producers must compete for this technology and if the situation does not change, the final takeoff moment remains unknown. Some companies like Netflix or Amazon Prime have bet for Ultra HD content.

Even without knowing well all the possibilities of this format, some companies have already announced production of panels for portable TV and 8K laptops in 2016. This technology is expected to release its final report on the celebration of the 2020 Olympics Games in Tokyo.
